How do I move my website from my existing host to Total Server Solutions?

The site is currently being hosting by a host other than Total Server Solutions and we'd like to move it to TSS. What is the process?

Does your existing hosting company have cPanel as their control panel? If so, the copy will be really easy. All you need to do is go into the control panel, click the BACKUP option and make a FULL backup. Then use your FTP program to upload that file to your new account. Open a ticket to let TSS know that the file has been uploaded and we will run the restore on the site.

If you do not have cPanel as the control panel, and your host allows SHELL access, you can log in via Shell and make a backup of the site and then upload that file to the TSS servers. From inside the cPanel, you can click on File Manager and then navigate to the correct folder. You can unpack the zip file using this program.

If your host doesn't support cPanel and doesn't support SHELL, one of the only options left will be to download each file from your existing host and then upload those files via FTP to the TSS servers. If you have any questions about your options, please open a support ticket and we can answer them for you.
